Job Summary
The Bank Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the bank branch, ensuring excellent customer service delivery, operational efficiency, revenue growth, and regulatory compliance. The role involves supervising staff, driving business development, managing financial performance, and maintaining strong customer and community relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Branch Operations & Leadership
- Oversee daily branch activities and ensure smooth banking operations
- Supervise, coach, and evaluate branch staff
- Allocate tasks and set performance targets
- Ensure adherence to banking policies, processes, and security procedures
- Resolve operational issues and escalations promptly
Customer Service & Relationship Management
- Maintain high service quality standards
- Handle complex customer inquiries and complaints
- Build and retain key customer relationships
- Promote customer-centric banking culture
Business Development & Revenue Growth
- Drive branch sales targets and profitability
- Promote banking products (loans, deposits, digital services, etc.)
- Identify new business opportunities and partnerships
- Lead marketing and community engagement initiatives
Financial Management
- Monitor branch budgets, expenses, and profitability
- Ensure accurate cash management and reconciliation
- Review financial reports and performance metrics
Compliance, Risk & Security
- Ensure full compliance with banking regulations and internal controls
- Oversee audits and risk assessments
- Enforce anti-fraud, AML, and KYC standards
- Safeguard branch assets and records
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Banking & Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related field
- Master’s degree or professional certification (added advantage):
- ACIB, ACCA, CFA, MBA, etc.
- Minimum of 5–8 years’ experience in banking or financial services
- Proven experience in branch management or team leadership
